Scrutineer Neil Procter Joins Mintex BHRC
The Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship has significantly strengthened its on-event organising team ahead of the 2013 season with the appointment of Neil Procter as the new deputy scrutineer for the series. Neil will work alongside long-serving series scrutineer Paul Loveridge, and his wealth of past experience is expected to strengthen even further the BHRC’s reputation for ensuring that competing cars are built to the highest safety standards and, equally importantly, within the MSA Historic Regulations.
Neil, a scrutineer for more than ten years, is also an experienced rally marshal and road rally competitor. His comprehensive knowledge of older cars will be particularly well suited to the BHRC machinery as he is already highly respected as the eligibility scrutineer for the Historic Rally Car Register’s Clubman’s Road Rally Championship. Having built his experience in circuit racing and hillclimbing with the Vintage Sports Car Club and Aston Martin Owners Club, he now runs the scrutineering team at Loton Park hillclimb.
He is also a respected car restorer and preparation expert, having taken on rebuild projects as diverse as a 1930s Singer Bantam, a 1970s Formula Ford Lotus and the unique 1980s Group C sports prototype racer, driven by Davina Galica and Desire Wilson.
“Bringing Neil on board is a real coup for the Mintex MSA British Historic series as we approach the new season,” says BHRC chairman David Lucas. “Competitors can be reassured that, before they go out onto the stages their cars will be thoroughly checked in a fair and even-handed way to ensure they are both safe and comply with the regulations. Neil and Paul are always happy to help competitors with advice and will work together to raise car safety and preparation standards.”
