New Year Stages – top 10 and class winners

Derek McGarrity and Neil Doherty claimed a start to finish victory at today’s New Year Stages Rally. Driving their S14 specification Subaru Impreza WRC, the crew powered to an emphatic win of almost one minute over Kieron Graffin and Paul McKenna, with Dominic McNeill and Tommy Speers third.

Keith White and William Carol topped the two-wheel-drive category, claiming fourth overall in the process. They finished ahead of James and Rebecca Kennedy, with John and Amanda McKeown just nipping ahead of Stephen Smith and Paul Finlay to take sixth overall.

Eighth placed Kyle Orr and Alan Stewart had been running as high as second until they hit some temporary mechanical troubles. And there was worse to come for the RallyForums.com Evo belonging to Jonathan MacDonald and Jordan Gilliland. They had been running as high as seventh overall when this happened on stage four…
