Craig Breen: Peugeot Sport Factory Driver
Craig Breen has been announced as Peugeot Sport’s factory driver for 2013. The Irishman will take part in eight European Rally Championship events as well as an intensive test programme for the 208 Type R5, which starts this week on gravel.
“This is incredible and beyond my dreams,” Breen commented after the announcement was made. “I am really excited to work with a manufacturer like Peugeot Sport. To arrive here in front of a nice season is a good position to be in. My objective is to show good speed and challenge for some victories on a regular basis. For the testing program, I will give the best I can to support the development of the 208 Type R5.”
The 2012 SWRC Champion has long been loyal to Peugeot, since he made a significant contribution to the development of the 208 R2, in testing and competition. He is already very familiar with the 207 Super 2000, having driven it on many an occasions in the IRC. The new status of Peugeot Sport factory driver marks another pivotal moment in Breen’s rally career.
